When the orgy of creation is complete, there is a day of recovery needed. I have so many things which I did not do while I was immersed in writing that I have to catch up on. Submissions, edit reviews, eBay sales, chores.

So that’s what today has been. A day of work topped off by more work.

I have officially started the sequel to the novel whose edits I finished Saturday. I started a new novella possible book yesterday night but the characters and situation need more time to perk before I go any further. Still I have 5 pages into that one and five characters intros and the main thrust of the story is started.

As of 1428 on Monday I have 503 words into the new book. Let’s see how much father I can get by bedtime. Or well, I can’t take it anymore and I have work tomorrow time.

I bid on several things in an auction. For Christmas presents and or resale depending. I love online shopping.

I also was reminded that when I let my hair just air dry I end up with surfer girl hair. I so rarely let my hair dry without it being in a bun that I forgot that it was naturally wavy. Lol. Ah the curse of the female in our society. We always want the hair we don’t have — like flat hair or curly hair. People pay money to get these sorts of waves.

End of day update. Novel is at

3k words and just starting chapter three.

I have updated several stories and finished none of them. I reminded myself that Grubhub exists for a reason and that I am not restricted to the food I have already in the room to snack on.

Also, that IHOP portions are huge.

Found a story I didn’t remember on my hard drive and I have just been getting acquainted with the characters. It is always fun. I think this one is probably a short story. Or it’s a series of characters’ perspectives ala Rashoman.

Completed the edits on my latest book. It’s ready to go back to the editor and beta reader. Then on the layout and copy editing.

Finished 1 short story. Sort of an unclassified thing. I think it ends up as a lit fic? Maybe?

Started working on another short story and the sequel to the book whose edits I just finished.

Getting ready to start my three day novel experience with a loooooong night’s sleep.

Blimey. I managed more than one day in a row. This is a minor celebration.

Listed four things on eBay and took photos of two more items, so that is going well. Still plenty of items to list. I should probably organize them more, but that smacks of non-useful fretting and I am trying to steer away from that.

I have to pack up because this weekend is my three day writing weekend. I get a hotel room for three days over Labor Day weekend and whenI am done, I have a novel. Or the majority of one. My goal for this year is to finish as many of my works in progress as I can. And of course I will start new projects if I feel the urge. It’s just an orgy of creation.

Would you look at that, the blog post is getting longer too. I might actually get the hang of this thing.

The hardest part of starting a new habit is making it actually happen on a daily basis. I am sure once I actually get the hang of it, this will work. Of course, the best laid plans of mice and men…

anyway, yesterday I got two pages of a new story written down. It features a set of characters that I tend to go back to on a regular basis. I got to introduce two characters I have only ever referred to before, so that was interesting. And I have to figure out the timeline a little more clearly for one of the main characters’ life. (Awkward sentence construction is fun.) But it was new words and nearly 300 of them in no time, so go me!

Also listed 7 lots on eBay tonight. If I keep it up, I might be able to get through the piles of stuff that we are ready to release back into the world for someone else to enjoy.

I had to refresh my Outlook calendar three times before I could believe that I didn’t have any meetings today. It was bizarrely quiet at work. Most disconcerting.

Also, open note to the dude I saw tonight skateboarding into an oncoming traffic lane wearing all black and a black baseball cap. You are fricking nuts and going to get you stupid ass killed if you keep doing that. Try thinking ahead and Bring something reflective with you.

In my defense, I was playing UNO with my friends and listing stuff on eBay. This decluttering gig can be tough. Especially when one loves thrifting.

Anyway, I am back on track and posting something today, even if it isn’t scintillating.

Spent the day at a doll auction and listing on eBay. I am seriously tired though. Tired enough that I forgot to take shampoo into the shower.

I think early to bed and late to rise is the way to go this weekend. Lol.
