It’s been just an ordinary day today. Nothing particularly one way or the other.

Still, I got a big old smack of imposter syndrome at work today. “Wow. I think this is really good. You have gotten so much done.” And I am thinking, seriously? This has barely scratched the surface of the project. Holy crap you have different standards.

Gratitude:

1) That other people see my worth more clearly than I do and point it out to me. I am a perfectionist and I always feel as though the thing I have created is not good enough.

2) That Pandora music streaming has introduced me to several bands that I never heard of before.

3) That there is a vacation setting on eBay so that I don’t have to resist everything when I take a vacation.

So today is Friday and I am happy that it is the last day in the work week. I think I will actually be able to get some of the things on my to do list done today. Also, I am exploring a work opportunity this morning which may change my future career path. We will see how that goes.

Gratitude:

1) That the little fox did not get hit by a car this morning. It was trying to cross what amounts to a 6 lane divided highway. It started back towards the side and I saw the car in the right lane hit the breaks. When I went by though, the fox was panting, but safely on the side of the road. She was adorable too. I just wanted to pet her and tell her it was okay.

2) The Cheshire moon that was in the sky on Wednesday night. The quarter moon grinning down at me is one of my favorite sights and it’s so much easier to see in the area I was that night.

3) The ability to ban bidders on eBay. The one I banned was rude and abrasive. And you know what? I have her the partial refund, even though I could have won the fight with eBay as the damage she cited was very clearly in the pictures. It was worth the money to just get rid of her and make sure she can never again deal with me on that platform. Also, she needs to learn when chat speak is not appropriate. Honestly, you do not use chat abbreviations when you are writing a business letter. Okay, obviously I need to do some work on releasing my feelings about this one. Still, I am grateful that eBay makes it possible to ban people.

Back to back meetings are pure evil. I made the choice to eat “lunch” at my lunchtime meeting because I am sick of lunchtime meetings. I also hate back to back meetings. It’s just not right.

Gratitude:

1) The hot and salty French fries I got with dinner last night. They were some of the freshest fries I have gotten in ages.

2) instant noodles for saving my blood sugars today

3) my coworker who brings in candy for the office

It’s been a day. Lost an hour and a half of work this morning because the program dumped me out of it without warning. I was NOT happy. And I ended up having to work late to hit my deadlines. *sighs* That’s the working day right?

And one of my co-workers up and quit. His last day is tomorrow. He has another job, but he just *bam* decided to leave and it was a beautiful power move.

Gratitude:

  1. My co-worker showing me how to detach without worrying about the work he’s leaving behind.
  2. That I can stream EMDR at work and focus down on my job sometimes
  3. The interview I just found out I’m going to have because it’s a possible new path.

Yeah!! It is officially pumpkin time. Time to decorate. I just need to grab the six or seven file boxes from the basement and start changing the decor to fall. I also get to figure out my Halloween themed outfits for the month. I figure that if people can wear Holiday sweaters all through December, I can wear my Halloween stuff at any time during October. That’s fair right?

Gratitude:

1) The dude with Pepe Le Pu on the back of his van this morning. Thanks for the smile.

2) The weird and wonderful people in my Monday night writing group. They are nuts, but honest and willing to let me be myself.

3) The car that means I am free to come and go as I please and able to haul the treasures I have found along the way.

Trying to figure out how to be more positive, so let’s try this gratitude journaling thing:

1) I am grateful for my apprentice because she has made it necessary for me to crystallize my practice enough that I can explain it to others.

2) I am grateful for the time I have with my parents because I know I won’t have it forever.

3) I am grateful for my business partners because I would never be able to keep myself moving forward in business without someone to bounce ideas against and be accountable to.

Working my way through the eBay death-pile today. Spent several hours on it. Now, I am done for the day and waiting for dinner to show up.

Just got told that relatives are coming the weekend, so I am pretty sure that cleanup is in my future.
